Description
Cilantro, also called Chinese parsley or fresh coriander, is the delicate, young leaf of the coriander plant, and is widely used in both Eastern and Mexican cuisine. No other spice is as polarizing as cilantro: for most people this spice has a tart and pleasant lemony herbal taste, but to a minority, thanks to a recessive gene, it tastes like dish soap. Its bright, fresh flavor is a wonderful complement to spicy ingredients, such as chipotle or Thai peppers, and to rich flavors such as coconut milk. Cilantro leaves are mostly used as a component in vinaigrettes, or as a topping to curries, salads, noodles and rice dishes. They can also be used as a spice in sausage making. The dried herbs is slightly less intense than the fresh, with a more delicate flavor, but it has the advantage of being shelf stable and ready to use. Naturally vegan and gluten-free.
Available in 0.25 oz and 0.5 oz net weight.
