This fiery hot blend of spices is exactly what you need to spice up your dinner, and to recreate the deep flavor of Nashville’s very own signature spicy fried chicken. Cayenne pepper and smoked Spanish paprika are first ingredients of this classic blend, but the spiciness is then balanced out with a medley of herbs and other spices, giving this seasoning a well-rounded, but still hot, flavor. For best results, we recommend mixing the spices with flour before coating the chicken, as per the original recipe – a half tbsp per cup is our favorite ratio, but feel free to adjust depending on how hot you like it. Other than for chicken, this blend also works really well for fried fish and tofu, and mixed with mayo for a spicy spread that goes with everything, from sandwiches to raw celery. Try also for seasoned fries, and mixed with melted butter on popcorn! Naturally vegan and gluten-free.
